Tool returns with tech problem fixed|
7-27: The Tool server is back, better than ever. It promised to have fixed the build glitch, which led to the discovery that some players may have been cheating for a long time. Three cheers for SBlaster. [Late note: Lugdunum, aka Arden Starbird, is taking credit for having broadcast to sc-talk about the cheat, which may have been going on for three years]
House cleaning hits Stellar Crisis Room
7-19: I tried to clean up Stellar Crisis Room, to make it load faster and make finding information easier. Several new people to Stellar Crisis recently e-mailed me, saying it was difficult for them to find out how to play. They had used the help button on the servers and wondered where was the help?
So I hope the changes will assist new players while keeping most of the information old-timers have come to appreciate.
Note on cleaning: I got rid of the chat area. I will put it back up if I hear anyone truly used it. But as far as I can tell, no one used it. There are faster, better chat areas throughout the Net.
Room reaches 1,885 hits
7-7: Stellar Crisis Room moved back, strong, into the top 20 Game Sites in the World as counted by Games Sites Net. The Room jumped from about 1,100 page visits a day (about 20-22 place) to 1,885 (18th) from Monday to Tuesday. We must have been posted somewhere BIG! (Top 19?)
Room adds IRC Web Ring
7-6: An Internet Relay Chat (IRC) Web Ring was added to the irc page. IRC is a great place to meet other players and learn more about the game.
Clan Wars updated, new season!
7-5: Chris took the holiday and updated Clan Wars. Note the News Section, with all the improvements. (I still like a white background, but I wear bi-foculs, too). The current Clan Wars runs 7/1 to 8/31. (Hint: the Bird has joined a clan, hehe).
Stellar Crisis joins Top 19 Gaming Site!
7-3: Top 19 Gaming Site just added Stellar Crisis Room to its list. The Room receives a vote for every visit from here to their site.
Lysator goes to v2.8.5!
7-2: Lysator v2.8.5 was announced today. Changes are mostly admin, including the wiping of 400 empires that had neither wins nor nukes (we call them nuke babies). Biggest change for players is that the system menu works correctly now. (Translation: You can pop trick a lot easier).
